Please Do Not Turn Off Your Console

Did you know the new Metal Gear Solid game is out next Tuesday? Did you know that Aaron, Matt, and Paul will take almost any opportunity to talk about Metal Gear Solid, at length, for longer than usual? Did you know that Aaron just finished playing through the extant MGS titles available on consoles this past weekend? Did you know they made a Metal Gear Solid game for the Game Boy Color and it was not good at all? Did you have any idea that getting this episode made involved overcoming several technical difficulties that almost caused Aaron to forsake technology and live in the woods as a hermit? Did you know you can buy a human skull on Amazon?

Opening music is Back to the Light by Jun Fukuda off of Killer 7. Closing music is Rave On, by Masafumu Takada, also off of Killer 7. Break music is Humrush, off MF Doom's Special Herbs.

There, reference secured. We also noticed the number was the same number as the one from that book you like, and have referred to it. Share the feeling of community that comes with getting a reference to a thing.

Matty Business is on business again this week, but Aaron and Paul aren't because if there's one thing they aren't, it's businessmen. Listen to some pretty great thunder as Aaron tries to prevent his house from getting rain in it, Paul talks to Cortana a little, and we spend an enormous amount of time talking about Metal Gear Solid 3, because Aaron beat that over the weekend. Also up for discussion: Zombi U's new lease on life, Resident Evil 2, Satellite Reign, and Sentris! You should play Sentris. It's good.

Not a trick! Not a lie! Matty Business is back after doing some business, and we're all here to talk about video games. Thrill as Aaron talks about another fucking fighting game (KOF XIII)! Chill as Paul continues to try to convert people to playing Elder Scrolls Online! Spill as we kind of get sidetracked and talk about Metal Gear Solid for like half the episode! Trill as the skype call gets disconnected and Aaron's audio gets super-quiet for like three or four minutes!

I am out of things that rhyme with thrill. I guess you can get ill listening to us talk about Silent Hill's hot new sequel and the Mighty No. 9 delay? Sure, that's good enough.

Aaron didn't want to use that for the title, but Paul overruled him, so fine. Welcome to our 40th episode extravaganza, where we spend the first twenty minutes or so not talking about video games at all, but talking about games of the mind (basically we played some Dungeons & Dragons). Also on the docket: a significant amount of Rising Thunder talk, a discussion about Satellite Reign, news about our YouTube channel and the content to be found on it, a brief digression about Cradle 2 the Grave's trailer, Konami's flaming dumpster fire and EROTIC VIOLENCE.

Be the in the first three people to send us an email at turnoffyourconsole@gmail.com OR tweet at us @turnoffconsole and we'll give you an alpha code for Rising Thunder, because we have some and we need to get rid of 'em.
